Edwin Stanley

  • Edwin served on the FMA (Fabricators and Manufacturers Association) for 9 years and spent multiple years as the FMA president.
  • He Has 40-plus years of manufacturing experience
  • Along with 30-plus years of experience in all types of metal fabrication
  • Edwin has been a major factor in the laser business for 23 years, he was an early adapter to CO2 lasers and was one of the first fab shops in the United States to adapt to fiber laser technology
  • As an active partner in GH Metal Solutions for 21 years, he was the initiator on GH’s first laser project in the year 2000 and oversaw growth to more than 30 flatbed lasers at 4 different locations before he retired in 2020.
  • In Edwin’s 23 years of laser manufacturing experience, he has served as both supplier and customer, giving him many years of insight and experience in the importance of meeting customer needs. He has a firm grasp of the urgency for quick turnaround and understands what type of partnership a purchase manager in an OEM needs to be successful.
  • Educated as an engineer, bachelor of mechanical engineering from Auburn University in 1986.

Kevin Newcom

  • Kevin started his career by serving his country as a military police officer for 10 years.  While serving his country he also entered the steel industry at the age of 18 and is currently in his 12th year as a steel industry executive.
  • He started his career in the steel industry at JMS Russel Metals where he held many positions while advancing his career, then he accepted a position with GH Metal Solutions as a plant manager.  After GH Kevin spent XX years as plant manager at Redline Steel, where he was promoted to director of operations.
  • Kevin is now serving in his new role as partner to Edwin Stanley at Laser Needs.
  • Kevin has extensive experience in running, maintaining, and programming Mitsubishi, Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, Nukon, and Vnitep lasers.
  • Kevin is very proud of the opportunity to follow his Father as a steel industry expert.  His Dad has been in this industry since he was 6 years old, Kevin’s Dad raised him as part of the steel culture and that has had a massive impact on his values and ethics.  He has a passion for the industry and that drives his desire to meet his customer’s needs.
